Visions of Solidarity

The international theme for Rare Disease Day 2012 was Solidarity. We would like to see what that means to you. According to the Merriam-Webster Dictionary the definition of Solidarity is “unity (as of a group or class) that produces or is based on community of interests, objectives, and standards ”. For Rare Disease Day another way to think of it is we are “rare but strong together.” Solidarity in this community can build a better world for the millions of people living with rare diseases.

We invite individuals of all ages to create a picture (by hand or on the computer) or write a short story demonstrating this idea. We will display these entries on the Rare Disease Day US website. You can view what has already been posted here. We welcome submissions from both children and adults with and without rare diseases that demonstrate their interpretation of this theme.
