University of Connecticut

The Pre-Medical Students Club of the University of Connecticut is hosting an educational event on rare diseases in the Student Union Building on the UConn main campus at Storrs, CT., from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28. A NORD representative will speak, as well as students affected by rare diseases.

NORD Open House

EVENT CANCELED DUE TO SNOWSTORM
Date: Friday, Feb. 26, 2010
Time: 3 – 6 pm

We held off for as long as we could, but a monster winter storm is hitting our area all day Friday. There is a winter storm warning in effect closing all of the schools in the area and making travel hazardous. NORD’s office is closed as well, and we have had to cancel our Open House. Stay warm and safe this weekend; we hope to reschedule this event in the near future.

NORD (National Organization for Rare Disorders) will be celebrating World Rare Disease Day 2010 with an open house at its Danbury headquarters. This event will help to raise awareness of rare diseases among Connecticut residents and showcase NORD’s role as a national non-profit and proud member of the Danbury and greater Connecticut communities. We have a very exciting story to share, and we are keen to share it with all of our local friends. We would be delighted if you would join us in our celebrations, light refreshments will be served. For more information, contact Tai Spargo at NORD or call (203)744-0100.

We would like to thank our sponsor, Union Savings Bank, for their generous support of this exciting event.
