Countdown to Rare Disease Day!

Rare Disease Day Events

Rare Disease Day Events

Rare Disease Day is for everyone in the rare disease community. Events and activities happen all over the United States and there are many ways for individuals, organizations, and companies to participate. For some ideas of what you can do to help celebrate, check out the Suggested Activities.

Read highlights from events from 2012.

If you are hosting an event we want to know about it! By adding your events here we can publicize them in our events list and in e-blasts to our Partners and Ambassadors.

If you would just like to share how you are observing the day, tell us on Facebook. We really appreciate hearing all of the ways people are taking part!

Proclamations

Many of the participants from last year may notice we are not promoting Rare Disease proclamations this year. Last year the U.S. Senate adopted, by unanimous consent, a resolution designating February 28, 2011, Rare Disease Day across the U.S. Additionally, proclamations, resolutions and similar documents were issued in all 50 states for the day. Due to our success achieving recognition from all 50 states last year we did not see a way we could improve or grow that initiative. Instead, we encourage everyone to consider some of the other activities this year. Thank you all for your hard work achieving all 50 states last year!
